A small wall consisting of a row of four stones, which are not particularly well aligned. The stones rest directly on the floor J1f238. They are aligned with the course of the second escarpment, but do not form a particularly compact structure, especially when compared with the subsequent curtain wall (^wall28), which constitutes a proper separating wall. This feature seems to have had more of a symbolic function, marking a sacred boundary, rather than serving as an actual barrier, as it could have been easily stepped over or circumvented. A further hypothesis is that the stones may have functioned as a sort of “memory stones” marking the escarpment. [Input: ZK903lC.J] |
